  1. My uncle use to work for Swift.. It wasn't good in his mind. He had lots of probs with that company. But the only way that you'll find out is to work for them yourself.. you can't base other peoples problems with the company in your reason not to apply. It might be the company that you'll grow old with you have to take that chance... I think that it's not the company to much I think it's that most employees aren't happy down the road..Like my uncle...I think he should of stayed with Swift cuz jobs and his age are harder to come by...Go for it.. you never know till you try. He also told me that the training is great. you can fire your trainer and ask for one thats been their over 10 years. Each pay is diff depending on years of driving
  2. I myself haven't worked for Swift but I know of some guys that have. Swift is ok for a starter job, but not long term. There were several reasons why they no longer worked for them. Here are some of the reasons: 1. They don't treat ya like a human being. They keep you out for weeks on end. When you need to get home, you can't. When you have a complaint or a question, they give you a run-around. 2. Make promises they don't keep. They say they will pay $.34 cpm starting out (don't know if that is accurate or not) but they fail to tell you that they pay on PC Miler miles. What that means is they cheat you on pay. An old truckers' quote is "they're paying me with a dispatcher's ruler". What that means is they draw a straight line from point A to point B and that is what they pay you on. Another thing they tell you is, "Our drivers get quality home time. They are only out 7-10 days." Yeah, right!!!! They draw a 50 mile radius of where you live, and never get you by the house!!!! In their mind, quality home time is once a month, for a day. 3. Dispatch doesn't know what they are doing. I've heard problems with dipatch not getting loads lined up for their drivers. Or the load they dispatch, isn't legal for that driver to run (haz-mat, hot load, etc.). I'm sure you have heard all the jokes about Swift drivers. Just make sure you check out everything and get it in writting before jumping into the truck with them. They do have a high turnover rate just so you know. If it was me, I'd look into a small trucking firm (100 trucks or less) and start out there. They would be more likely to treat you like family and actually care about you, instead of thinking that you are just another number/face they haven't seen.
  3. Presently there are no drivers listed from Swift,,,assuming your asking about Coach/Bus service companies! Best thing I know to do is contact a driver at a point where they are able to respond without other's in hearing distance.
  4. Swift is a great place to get started driving just be aware that driving a truck over the road is a different way of life and you should be prepared. But for someone starting out it is good because after 5 or 6 years you will be making really good money. They have good benefits and equipment. They are the largest trucking company and the most financially secure
