Location Transport

How does the location of glycolysis different in bacteria and in more complex cells?

Okay, I'm in biology, and we totally have a test tomorrow, and I can't figure out then answer to this! How does the location of glycolysis, the Krebs cycle, and the electron transport system different in bacteria and in more complex cells? ANy help at all would be soooo much appreciated! :)

  1. By "more complex cells" I assume you mean eukaryotic cells. In bacteria: Gycolysis - cytoplasm Krebs cycle - cytoplasm Electron transport chain - Plasma membrane In eukaryotes: Gycolysis - cytoplasm Krebs cycle - matrix of mitochondria Electron transport chain - Inner membrane of mitochondria
