- go to a b&b or youth hostel or budget motel there is lots of public tranport as long as it isnt too late at night
- I suggest going to a Library or Book shop and getting a Book on London- Rough Guides are very good- they will give good basic Information on Transportation in the city and to the Airports as well as suggestions of places to stay/eat Online go to the London Tourist board site http://www.visitlondon.com/
- It seems like a very naive question. London has one of the most elaborate systems in the western world. What airport? what part of the city do you want to go to? -------------------- All 4 airports have trains. Heathrow and gatwick have two. It is one of the most expensive cities in the world for hotels, so conveniently placed budget hotels are difficult to find.
- Assuming you arrive at Heathrow take the tube into Central London. Book your hotel before you come. You will get ripped off if you buy when you arrive. There are very few "budget" hotels in London so start doing your research now and consider staying out of the centre near an outlying tube station and use the tube to travel to your destination.
- book before hand or you'll be left with a massive bill or sleeping on the streets. book for somewhere near the city centre, not too far away, in london generally budget means the hotel has its own prostitutes and drug dealers. london has one of the best public transport systems in the world - tubes from 5am to 12.30am night buses that run more or less all night and come every few minutes. getting from gatwick and luton to london is annoying - they're really far away, but quite easy and stanstead, city and heathrow are all really easy what with buses and tubes and the wonderful black cab.
- Dirt cheap: The Generator http://www.generatorhostels.com/en/london Cheap: The County Hotel http://www.imperialhotels.co.uk/default.aspx Affordable: TheTavistock (see imperial london hotels) Transport: Buy a travel card after the morning peak period for unlimited travel on underground and London buses and trains.
