How do you calculate shipping on eBay when trying to sell something?

I'm a college student so you can count on how tight my money is right now, so I've decided to sell of clothing on ebay. The thing is that I'm stuck on the shipping & handling fees. Also how does the buyer send money to me after they won the bid? Thanks

  1. eBay has their own shipping calculator to do it for you. You can get free boxes at usps.com of different sizes. PayPal is the way most buyers on eBay pay you. If you charge a handling charge make sure its not too high. Most add 1.00. If you charge to high a handling charge then your buyer will give you a negitive feedback which you do not want. I use usps for doing my lables too. You can print the postage out and make the lable all at one time. You also have to pay for it then too. eBay is going to be moving to just paypal or credit cards shortly.
  2. sometimes its easiest to just look what other members are charging for similar items - i actually have a article in my website on this sort of thing http://mystudentblog.co.uk/ebay-guide/ hope this helps!
