They said i'm lost in the system, what do i do now?

I allowed my ontario drivers license to expire with the understanding I could renew it within a year without having to go through with the tests and everything. so, that is what i thought i did. i went in, paid the fee, they took a new picture and said i could be expecting my new license in the mail. at the same time i was getting my M1, but this shouldnt have caused any confusion, (wait, its the ministry of transportation, confusion is abundant). anyway, not having a car, i rarely thought about it, but now i just realized, my origional time frame has expired. i called them and i guess as far as they're concerned, i didnt do anything. so, the local office said to come in, but what good will that do??? the last thing i want is to go through graduated licencing again!! has any one every been through this?? what happened? thanks for any info.

1. Run a stop sign. You'll be back in the system in no time.
2. You paid the fee by cash or credit card? do you have a receipt for the cash payment? You have a picture in their system...they can find and verify that it is you when you go in. You probably won't go through classes again if you are still within the 1 year. don't hesitate, just go up there on an off day and get this taken care of, it may be easier than you are thinking...

4. You don't follow up on things very well, do you? Take your receipt, go back to the office, tell them you never got your license.
