Location Transport

What's the best way to get a car from the Pacific Northwest to New England?

A friend has moved from here to there and doesn't want to drive her car across the country. She has looked into closed-car train transport and can't find any company that will do it going eastward. (Westward, sure, but that's not helpful.) She has found trucking companies that will do open-air transport but keeps reading on webpages about nightmare situations (stolen/vandalized cars, stolen property from inside the vehicle, "missing" keys) so would rather not go that route. Are there companies out there that are reputable, safe and reliable and will get a car from west to east? Self-driving the car is not feasible - it would take much too long and she can't take that kind of time off work. Some other person or entity (likely someone getting paid) driving it for her.

  1. Have a friend help you drive the car across the country and enjoy the scenery, visit some historical roads - buildings etc. Stop along the route and eat at different locations, there are so many things to do along the way that you will wish that the trip would never end. The best thing is that you will enjoy the driving and geting to know the USA, at the same time you can take care of the car without being afraid that something bad is going to happen to it. JDT
  2. As to the hiring of transport, check with car clubs and or specialty auto dealerd in the area as they may know of a reputable firm.
