VW transporter fan belt-above or below the water pump?

We have just done some repairs to a VW T4 Transporter Van (1.9 TD with no air conditioning) and need to know if the fan belt needs to be fitted over the water pump or under it. Since the Van is not ours, we don't want to have to pay for a manual just to check this one thing. Does anyone have one or have one of these vans and would mind having a quick look to see which way it goes? Thanks

1. i cant recall offhand....pop into any car accsesory shop[NOT halfords],most keep belt books[auto-data] that show the layout...
2. A rough guide, if the pulley is smooth it rides on the smooth side of the belt, toothed it rides on the toothed side of the belt.
