- its the starter motor making the clicking - flat battery.
- Yep battery is flat and or not charging the clicking is the solonoid on the starter trying to engage
- Try a new battery but I think it may be the starter.
- When relays go, they often buzz. It's the solenoid on your starter that is making the tick. Replace or rebuild the starter.
- Make sure both of the battery terminals are on tight and making good contact - sometimes this on its' own can cause the "ticking" noise you mention.
- If you have some one jump start it, then you have a weak battery.
- Before you buy a new battery get the charge rate checked to make sure battery is being charged from the alternator. Good luck, Gizz.
- The noise is coming from the starter motor solenoid which is mounted on top of the starter motor. You either have a duff battery causing this, or the solenoid windings are on the way out, in which case you need a new solenoid.
- Battery is low on juice. So, get the charging system checked as it isn't charging the battery - its that or the battery is too old(5 plus years) and needs replacing.
- Hi From the sounds of it you need to have your charging system checked out. Buy yourself a cheap charging system tester from Halfords or the like which either plugs into the cigarette lighter or connects across the battery and then follow the instructions supplied with it and it will point you in the right direction. Very best regards Geordie
