USPS lost package (item bought from e-bay)?

on dec. 14 i bought a watch from e-bay and paid as soon as the auction ends...it was free shipping so i thought the seller would use the cheapest way to ship my item so i waited and still haven't receive my item, so i contact the seller and she said that the package already arrive on Dec. 18th and she gave me the confirmation number so i can double check it if i dont believe her and it did say that the item have already arrived but how come until now i still didn't recieve it...i contact USPS but it didnt do much help...what should i do? Should i go to USPS and try to see if my package is there? -Also one time, my aunt sent me a package and they gave me the wrong keys and i have to go there to change it...is it possible that the USPS gave the key to a wrong person?

2. I had a package delivered from a seller on ebay and ups delivered to the wrong house down the road, twice. Maybe usps delivered to the wrong house. More than likely the seller is telling the truth about the confirmation number. I would at least try to contact usps and see if they can tell you anything with the confirmation number. If it was covered through paypal you may be able to get reimbursed.
