- Can you or someone else drive it there?
- drive it wouldnt cost half hire a driver and buy them a bus ticket
- I live in Fl and my friends Mom comes here for 6 months out of the year and she lives in PA and hires a driver to take the car to VA and she uses the car train that goes from Virgina to Sanford, Fl on Amtrak. The price for this train goes way down in the winter. BUT I don't know what state your Aunt lives in? Another idea... If she can't afford a driver or the train..Maybe she could sell the car where she lives and buy another car here.
- Possibly run an ad on craigslist. Of course, you would definitely want exceptional references for someone that is trustworthy and reliable. Another idea is to check with her church. Possibly someone has a relative that would like to come down for a visit that could drive the vehicle for your aunt, and would be willing to fly home with a one way ticket.
- You don't mention where you are moving from, but chances are $800 may be high. I checked out a pricing tool at: http://www.transportreviews.com/directory/infobyroute.asp?OS=NY&DS=FL Just to see what NY to FL costs and the average is around $800, but there are many reviews as low as $650. Cheaper though, is somewhat tough. If you can get a rate around $700 you may want to go with it. Between gas and travel expenses, not to mention time of the driver or the depreciation of the vehicle, it is very easy to justify the cost when compared with the options. You can get multiple price quotes from several companies at once at: http://www.carshipping.net/ When you get the quotes contact the companies and let them know that price matters and that you would be willing to be put on standby to get a lower rate. This will mean a much longer delivery time (could be a month or more) but the price will be less. Hope this helps. Good luck.
