How can I go by public transportation from Oakland Ca to Stanford University in Palo Alto?

Also if there's a transportation system within the University itself in order to get around within the grounds.

1. You can get there quite easily using the train. Take BART (subway) from anywhere in Oakland to Millbrae station. At Millbrae station, cross the platform and transfer to Caltrain for Palo Alto. http://www.bart.gov/ http://www.caltrain.com/ The Stanford campus is within walking distance of the station.
