What is the public transportation like in Orlando Florida?
I will go to Orlando in 2 weeks. What is the public transportation like in Orlando? Can I get to the themeparks and beaches without a car?

- That would be Greyhound - from the Orlando terminal at 555 Saint John Parkway. The closet stop to Coca Beach would be the Melbourne Stop located at at the Melbourne Airport off Apollo Pkwy There is only one bus daily - It leaves Orlando at 12:45pm and gets into Melbourne at 2:25pm. Once you get off the bus, Board the "Space Center Area Transit" bus' Route 19-192 Connector. its due to leave the airport at 3:00pm, Take it all the way to the Nance Park stop. Its due there at 3:40, at the same time transfer on the #26 South Beach Trolley - Northbound, all the way up A1A to 12th St and Alantaic , its due there at 4:07pm. That stop is in the southern edge of Coca Beach, Go keep going North on A1A , Take the 9 Beach Trolley one block north of 12th St. Its due to leave there at 4:12pm. Take that bus north all the way to your place that you need in Coca Beach, the bus goes all the way to Hwy 528. Have a blessed day.
- Public Transit in Orlando is horrible, terrible and inadequate. It is run by a company called Linx. To even get between disney and universal you would have to take a cab it is a $35 ride. No local buses offered, unless your hotel offers it as a perk. The beach on the Atlantic side is an hour away and on the Gulf of Mexico side and hour and a half. The closet thing is free transportation from the Florida Mall to the Sterling Casino booze cruise. The Florida Mall would be a $30 cab ride from Universal and heaven only knows from Disney (at least $50). You could try the city bus, but it would be two hours from Disney to get to the Florida mall and probably three transfers, no lie. And there would be no return bus available you be back home too late for that. Rent a car.
- I would highly recommend getting a rental car, for two weeks, you should be able to find a rate of about $15 or so per day and it will end up saving you a LOT of time and money in the long run.
- Sounds like you are going to do some sightseeing-rent a car and don't be a slave to the bus schedule.
