  1. Absolutely I agree. The system has been underfunded for decades and must be ramped up to cope with our rapidly growing population, and the increase in usage due to high petrol prices. New circle lines and radial lines need to be built on both the train and tram networks, and new connections created. Also the overall system has to be made coherent, with more linkages between different modes. No new suburbs should be built without a train line. I lived in London for a couple of years, and you could get from just about any point to any other point in the metropolitan area quickly and efficiently on the Underground, due to intersecting circle and radial lines.
  2. yeh i think our system is good already like compared to other places around the world but there's still alot we can improve melbourne is especially a great place to decrease carbon emissions because we melbournians are very concioous of the environment i think the eastern suburbs need more trains and more regular buses, i think all the other areas are fairly well equipt, maybe more reliabilty but i think the most important thing is reducing the ticket prices because recently all they've been doing is going up because often it's a pretty unpleasant so i think it really needs to be cheaper and maybe free for students to catch public transport it would be really great if everything was as regular as the trams of st kilda rd...but i doubt that's possible
  3. Yep. But its not just Connex that has to clean up their act. Also, new lines need to be built to create loops that connect the ends of the lines, e.g. a line that connects Dandenong to Frankston, with a number of stops in between.
