Best places to visit in chennai?

Hi guys. This is first time i come to chennai. I came here for official work and will be here until next year March. Im alone too. Can anyone suggest me a place to go which is safe, interesting in Chennai. Don't mind if it far from Chennai. Not really far. Few hour travels. I don have transport so have to depend on public transport. So really need info from you guy's. Please help to pass my time in chennai. 1. the temples over there because its really famous and you can c so many sculptures realyy nice to c thou.......... and the marthanda varma palace..... its quite nice

6. Hi buddy... Spencer plaza really cool place which is located in mount road then Barista ice cream bar in t.nagar and gandhi beach or besant nagar beach and yes don't forget to have a taste of beach bajji in beach, then chennai city center in radha krishnan road and satyam theatre in mount road, and if you are pub going guy then go to ECR road.
