My umbrella was stolen on the bus yesterday?

Yesterday when I was coming home from school on the bus(not the yellow bus, public transportation), I had my umbrella in my hand and I fell asleep on the bus. When I woke up to get off at my stop, my umbrella was gone. I looked on the floor of the bus and everywhere I could possibly look and I couldn't find it. I don't know whether my umbrella fell out of my hand while I was sleeping and someone picked it up, or I don't know if someone "pick-pocketed" the umbrella out of my hand while I was sleeping. I do recall a guy sitting next to me on the bus before I fell asleep and he was sitting pretty close. By the way, I live in NYC, so pick-pocketing isn't rare.

  1. Bastard stole your umbrella! So why did you ask this question btw, btw, what is the question?
  2. awwww lol i'll buy you a new one =]
  3. To avoid this happening again do not fall a sleep on the bus? Where their any people you where sitting near that you know that you could ask if they saw anything?
  4. Check with the Bus station's Lost and Found, just in case someone turned it in.
  5. Most likely your umbrella spontaneously combusted. Hehe...nobody pickpockets things anymore, it is all about copyright violations.
  6. Whenever you use public transportation you run the risk of something getting stolen, especially if you fall asleep. You probably dropped the umbella while you were sleeping, and then it was "fair game" to anyone who was near you. Thank goodness your money wasn't stolen. Please be careful.
  7. I fall asleep all the time and not been pick pocketed ever!
  8. Sorry to hear of this but it always gets worse during the holidays...
  9. That is an unfortunate thing. You should be thank-ful that you weren't mugged or hurt. But the thing is since you are using public transportation, you are at risk when it comes to things being stolen. Many have lost items when using this kind of transportation. I have taken the Metro train in my area many times and they make announcements saying to remember to take all of your belongings. They even have signs that say you they are not liable for things lost or stolen. Why is that? Well it is so because you are using their service. You are responsible for what you carry on. So if it is stolen or lost then that is unfortunate for you and there is nothing they can do about it. Sorry to hear that, but I'm sure you will be careful next time. Just pay more attention to your surroundings and you will be fine.
