gameboy trade link cable?

i just bought a trade link cable plugged it into my gameboy advance SP then hooked the other end into my other gameboy advance SP but there's one other end to the cable where does it go and can i trade pokemon from yellow to gold using bill's transportation thing in ecruteak city poke center?

1. that other end is used for another gameboyadvance I believe cause I have one and for the nintendo gamecube console. no, not that I know of..
2. There are different link cables; and the one you have supports three (4 if you by an extended cable) GBA consoles as long as the game has 3-player. You should be able to trade Pokemon between Yellow and Gold versions.
