Early medieval era sites?

Ok, so I'm trying to find some information on early medieval eras, but all I can find is church-related whatnot. I'm looking for the early medieval era that involves kings and peasants and whatnot. Knights and commoners. I want to know everything I can, from architecture to dress to transportation. Anything and everything, but I haven't been able to find any good sites. Any suggestions?
