What US car would be the easiest shipping to Japan for a DOD civilian. ?
I have free car shipping to Japan I know about the Emissions test being a bit difficult. I was wondering if there was a particular make of car sold in the US that would be easy to ship to Japan making the emissions test cake for me. I have been blessed this weekend with the opportunity of getting a new car. Im considering a Scion Tc, or maybe a Civic Si. Thoughts on those cars as well as suggestions would be greatly appreciated thank in advance. Yes I am aware that I can buy a car in Japan as well. Although I won't be able to bring it home with me. I know from actually being there that the quick sales from Military personel leaving in a rush have great deals although, the cars at times are not to nice looking I rather bring my own. I am aware of Maintinence issues as well hence, the question. Try again guys. . .

- Why not buy locally and use the shipping to send it home? They make Japanese cars in Japan too you know.
- i will advise you to get it locally it will save cost for you
- Either way Joey, go for the Honda or Scion. A Dodge Challenger sucks, as far as mechanically and resale are concerned. I was a finance manager for a couple dealerships for 5 years (you know the person that sold you your GAP insurance). Always buy an import over a domestic unless it's a full size truck! I am not familiar with Japanese emissions, I assume they are more strict then ours? If I were you I'd start cruising the internet and see if you can hook yourself up with a mechanic buddy before you get out there. Here a mechanic can make a car pass emissions by tinkering with it however they need to, hopefully it's the same way there!
