Choosing and verifying a car shipping company?

I need to ship a car from the Midwest to New York. I searched on the Net and find dozens of companies, all asking for my email address to give me free quotes. How do I choose? I don't trust giving my email out to all these places and then getting quotes I can't easily compare or verify. I want to make sure the company is reliable, fair, and choose drivers with that take excellent care of the car. How do I learn these things? Thanks.

1. My father paid a company to ship his car from DC to CA, he paid a deposit of $300 and never heard from them again. I went to http://www.bbb.org and put each company I found on the net into it. the one with the least amount of complaints is the one that we used, and we didn't have an issue. Use the BBB. It works
2. try ripoffreport.com they will tell you anything bad about companies.. and it is from personal experience :)
