Buyer wants to get my car through shipping from Belfast?
Recently I advertise my car on the Auto trader to sell it, and some people email me they are interested on my car. But they are quite generous. They don't want to negotiate, and they said they will send me a bank draft, and when it's cleared, they'll get this car by a shipping company they are dealing with. They want my address and full name only. But my concern is, what if they cancel their bank draft after they get this car? Is it OK to sell the car like this? What about all the paper works?

- don't sell or buy anything like that. it's probably a scam. they could easily cancel the note or the note can be a complete fake. you won't find out that it's a fake until a week later when your bank can't cash it. then you are responsible for the money. it sounds like scam. they are generous cause they will never pay you. try to sell it to someone you can meet in person. my link is about some scams that are out there.
- tell them to bring cash or forget it!
- this is a scam/ they will send you a fake draft but it will take 14 days to come back bad/ they will want you to send the overpayment back to them in good funds/ the draft will be returned and you will be out the money you sent to them as an overpayment/.
- Don't let the car out of your sight till you have the money! Bank drafts can be ok but have your bank confirm, in writing, that the money is irrevocably yours before releasing the car.
- THIS IS A SCAM - DO NOT FALL FOR IT Autotrader are aware of these scammers, report it to autotrader and the Internet service provider that the "buyer" is emailing from. Your car will be collected and you'll never see the money or your car again. Please please please do not give these people your details!!!
- Its a well known scam you end up with no cash and no car. Avoid like the plague, real cash or no deal.
- Don't do it - you will gt ripped off. They send the bank draft. You let them have the car. Three months later, the bank draft turns out to be fake. You owe the bank that money. You have no car. The "buyer" has vanished for good. It's a well-known scam...
