what's the easiest way to get to san mateo from san francisco? (using public transport)?
Hey, I want to go to the college of san mateo and if you guys can tell how can I get there using BART, Sam Trans, etc.. it will be great! I want something easy since I'm not familiar with the area and I'm really bad with direction. Can you also give the cost for that transportation as well? THANKS a bunch! time taken? I open the website on the first answer. Doesn't help much. There's no San Mateo on the destination list

- Take Caltrain from the San Francisco main station at 4th and King Street (sometimes called "Mission Bay" station by locals) to Hillsdale station. SamTrans Bus 250 connects College of San Mateo with the Hillsdale station. All local SamTrans buses are free with a monthly Caltrain pass. The cost of passes are based on distance. Assuming you're coming from San Francisco, you costs come to $106 per month. Otherwise, regular roundtrip tickets are $8.00 for Caltrain and $3.00 for SamTrans (which adds upto $11 per day). There are staffed ticket windows at the San Francisco station. Or you can use an automated ticket machine (cash, debit, or credit card). http://www.caltrain.com/caltrain_zones_04-02-2007.html http://www.samtrans.com/pdf/Schedules/Route_250_10-01-07_DETOUR_revise_A.pdf Travel time is roughly 40 minutes. However, you'll have to wait for your transfer.
