Does anyone know a place to get shipping boxes for live fish?
I need some shipping boxes, for shipping live fish. The boxes need to be lined with styrofam, or boxes that say live tropical fish, that comes with a styrofoam cooler. Does anyone know where I can get come of these? I have tried my local fish store-they will not sell them. Yes, they personally know me. The wholesaler they buy from, always want them to send the boxes back for re-use! Our pet store is cheap!

- If you live in the United States, the place where you should take your fish to ship them is, surprisingly enough, the local United Post Office. UPS ships tons of fish cross country, and has standard shipping procedures that they'll make you follow. But it pays off, because your fish arrive alive. Stop by your local post office and talk to them. They should sell the packaging materials that you'll need, and if they don't then they will know where to buy them.
- you can buy styrofoam boxes at stores, just keep your eye open and then you can add them straight into the cardboard box. home improvement stores will have them as well. keep your eye out on aquabid, there are also auctions from time to time that i remembered that they are getting rid of for free.
- If you're looking for something in small quantites and are in a hurry, maybe try a supermarket. I would imagine they would have something similar for shipping meat or other frozen goods to the store. Another possible solution is to buy a cheap styrofoam cooler and find a cardboard box just a little larger. You'd have to seal the lid on well and stuff foam peanuts or something between the cooler and the box. This may not work as well as a box with the cooler made to fit snugly inside. If you need a lot of boxes, or can wait to get them, you can order boxes like the kind you want online. Just look up insulated shipping boxes. http://www.mrboxonline.com/insulated-foam-boxes-styrofoam-insulated-shipping-c-21_102_104.html
