Is shipping a car to another state expensive?

I am moving in a few months from West Texas to Virginia. I am not familiar with how expensive shipping my car would be.Would it be better for me to just take the roadtrip?

  1. shipping a vehicle can be fairly expensive... always going to be cheaper to drive on your own... its not as expensive as calling a tow company but if you did not want to drive because you are moving I would suggest getting a tow dolly to attach to the back of your moving truck.. U-haul has them for rent..
  2. I'm not wisest person when it comes to auto repair. Last week I had some problems with my Pontiac Grand Am and I wasn't sure how to fix them. I tried to search the Internet for help, but the procedures were way too complex for my skills. I ended up going to the dealship for my repairs. The dealership tends to charge more than mom and pop repair shops, but they've seen all sorts of situations ( insurance problems, repair warranty issues, etc) and they seem to always find a way to help me. Maybe you can try calling auto repair shops in Virginia to see if they can help you. http://www.autorepairshoplocator.com/Virginia-Auto-Repair.html
