Best place to stay in Orlando?

I am planning to visit Orlando next month around the long weekend (22-25). I am planning to visit 2 days for Disneyworld, 1 day for Seaworld and 1 day for Keneddy space center. I am not sure if I my plans are ok and if it is worth to visit these places or if I need to make some changes in this plan? My other question, is it advisable to rent a car in orlando? what about the traffic and parking conditions? In case if I dont have a car, what about the public transportation. I dont want to spend much time and money on these things. Your suggestions will be really very helpful for me to decide the things in better way. What is the place near by Orlando Intl Airport (MCO) and various attractions (Disney, Seaworld, Universal, Space center etc). What is the aveage cost of the hotel rooms. Basically I am looking for a room where I can take a bath and take good night sleep as most of the time I will be out so an average quality hotel should be fine. Thanks in advance for your suggestions. Thanks for the great answers. Its really helpful for me to plan my trip. Other things I wanted to know, I have only 4 days in hand. Can anyone guide how can I best utilise my time. I am planning to go to Disney, Seaworld and KSC. Not interesetd in Universal as recently I visited "Universal Studios Hollywood" in LA so dont think it will be very different. What do you suggest.

  1. If you plan on going to Disney Sea World and KSC then renting a car would be the best way. The public transportation in Orlando isn't the greatest. Parking at the parks around about what $13 per day. I recommend staying in the International Dr area. Lots of hotel choices depending on your budget. If you can, try to get a hotel with shuttles to the parks and just rent a car if you still want to visit KSC. http://www.internationaldriveorlando.com/ ------------------------------- well if you stay in the I drive area Sea World will be close by so you may do that first. It will be good because you can see what other things are around your hotel. Will you have a car? Disney is about 15 mins drive from the I drive area it is very easy to get to I would do that next. Disney has 4 parks are you doing all 4 of them>? I would do KSC on your last day. It wont be an all day thing so you can drive there using the beach line, then if your flight leaves at night on that day you can go straight to the airport.
  2. I agree about International Dr. But, be sure you get a hotel in the upper numbers, say 8000 plus. The hotels with the lower number aren't really nice. The area isn't the greatest. They may not clean their carpets very often and you want that. At the convention center on International dr. they have a lot of dog shows, so the dogs stay at the hotels and leave their fleas! But, the closer you get to Sea World and the convention center the better. Definitely rent a car. At www.mousesavers.com, she has discount codes for rent a cars! I've saved about $100 on a car that way!
  3. Trying to find a hotel that offers transportation to Disney and Seaworld is very hard. I have looked at almost all the hotels in Orlando and Kissimmee and it seems that most of them do either Universal, Seaworld or Disneyworld. You did not say how many people you have in your party. But look at the Seralago hotel in Kissimmee they provide free Shuttle service to Disney and the cost from the hotel to seaworld would be 11/person. For the cost to the kennedy space center you would have to call maingate taxi for a quote. International Dr has some good hotel check out Iridetrolley.com Also check out Universalorlando.com for a special on hotels. You will have to book by April 30th (sorry not much time) but the deal is buy 3 get 2 free. You can just remove the tickets from the package and use the hotel. We stayed at the Homewood suites american way universal. Nice hotel and everyone was very friendly. They are a little pricey though, but they offer free breakfast in the morning and a light dinner from 5-7 mon thru thurs, which saved alot of money. The provide free shuttle service to Seaworld then you would catch mears taxi to Disney for about 21.25 each way.
