closest Quebec-US border to Montreal?

i've asked this question before but i just found out that it has to be a Quebec-US border instead of any Canada-US border.. does anyone know the closest Quebec-US border that can be travelled to by public transport, from montreal? we don't have a car and we only need to stop at the border..! thanks in advance..!

1. The closest border crossing between Quebec and the US is at Lacolle Quebec.

Well, you might be able to get closer to the border by taking a bus down to Saint-Jean-Sur-Richelieu, and I think Sherbrooke is a bit closer to the border, also accessible by bus, but there`s nothing that would get you right to the border. I recommend you go to http://montreal.en.craigslist.ca/rid/ and find someone heading to the states, and ask if they can just drop you off next to the border. You could also try to co-ordinate with someone coming back up to Montreal, but this would be difficult, logistically, so you might end up having to hitch-hike back. That or find a good friend with a car, or take a taxi.
