USPS boxes and shiiping help?

I heard that USPS gives away free shipping boxes so i went to their site, ordered 10 just to test it out. It cost me nothing--atleast thats what it said. Anyone used this before? Its for priority mail (dont even know what that means) will it work if the place i am sending the items in provides free shipping? yea but the company i am sending it to provides free shiping (w/ the label) so i pay nothing...right?

  1. Yes I've used it befores. The boxes are free but you also have the buy the "labels" which are not free to send it somewhere. Priority mail is the one 2-3 days time to get there.
  2. Priority means fast shipping. about $5 a pound. If you have flat rate boxes you can fill them and ship em for about ten bucks per box.
  3. I get my boxes from USPS often. Usually you order a pack of ten. They will come in a few days. They really are absolutely free. Remember: the box is for packing only. It has nothing to do with shipping prices. I used to sell some stuff on ebay. You can get boxes that say ebay or ones that don't. You wouldn't want one marked ebay for your purpose. I like the shoe box size. Some I use for mailing. They also come in quite handy for storing things. You can use the priority box. It has nothing to do with who is paying the shipping. Priority box is standard for ebay (or for most any purpose). It just states the time for delivery. I forget what that is because it's been nearly a year since I sold on ebay, but I think it is 4 - 7 days. Also, they have a flat rate box which you may be interested in if you mail something small but very heavy. They charge X number of dollars for the box to be mailed no matter what it weighs. I just looked back at the other answers and I should add that I aslo picked up a handful of labels for free at the Post Office. All you need be concerned with is shipping price and from what you said you don't need to be concerned with that either. They will even give you a roll of Priority Mail tape or stickers free from they're website.
