Best suburb in sydney - close to shops, transport, -$500 rent?

im looking for a good suburb to rent in for less that $500 a week. must be fairly close to the city and close to public transport and shops. :)

1. How about Chatswood? Nice area on train line not too far from the city, major shopping area, buses also including to the beach.

3. woolstencraft, lavender bay, kirribilli all very centralin northsydney and close to trians also pyrmont is lovely thats very central u should fine somthing for 500 but not much lesss

Hornsby on the Upper North Shore's of Sydney is a part of a major transport hub with easy access to anywhere you wish to go, the CBD is about 25 km away but since trains are frequent and easy to get express trains it doesn't take long to get to the city. They also have a lot of flats and hi-rise development. The shopping mall in Hornsby is one of Sydney's largest. Hornsby is fairly middle class and has the distinction of being one of the safest (less crime) areas of Sydney.
