Location Transport

I just bought an item on ebay and on the shipping, it says "other". What does that mean?

Normally on an item it would say: Shipping: Free Shipping UPS Ground or something. but on mine where it normally says "first class mail" or "UPS Ground", it says "other" and there's nothing in the description about it.

  1. You should always check that before you buy. None of us can tell you what it means, but the SELLER can tell you very quickly. So ask the seller.
  2. It could mean a couple of things..... #1 - the seller will be shipping it the cheapest shipping option possible.... #2 - I sell a lot and sometimes put other..... This is because the post office, UPS and Fedex are equal distances from me... So I will ship at whatever one is in the area that I will be doing other business in.....
  3. Other means that the seller will use whatever shipping method that they prefer, usually the cheapest method for them. It may be that the seller ships different items using different carriers, and does not want to lock into one carrier in the listing, in case another is less expensive for them, or more convenient. If you were concerned, the time to ask was BEFORE you bid, not now.
  4. It is so the seller can choose which service (FedEx, UPS, USPS) and which method (Priority, Ground, Parcel Post) to use.
  5. other is a cheaper option
  6. It just means they haven't specifically listed the type of shipping or the type of shipping they are using wasn't on their drop down menu when they listed the item. If you are curious as to how they will be shipping, just contact the seller with the link provided on the listing web page.
