Where do I take public transportation to get to CALABASAS California from LA?

Does anyone know what public transportation is available to get to Calabasas CA from Downtown LA or from LAX airport. It's a mess to rely on transportation in LA. Any idea what buses, trains, trolleys would take to me Calabasas? I wonder if people still public transportation to residential areas. Thank you!

  1. Yes, you can use public transit to reach Calabasas. The routes you would use depend greatly on the day of week and time of day and if you are starting from Downtown LA or LAX. The Downtown LA route is easy! During weekdays the LADOT operates two direct lines between Calabasas and Downtown LA, #422 and #423 which are both express routes and cost about $2.65 each way. On weekends you would need to use the Red Line subway to the Universal City Station then take an MTA Rapid line #750 to Woodland Hills, and change to a MTA line# 161 at Ventura & Topanga canyon which will take you to Calabasas. To get to Calabasas from LAX during weekday rush hours, you could take an LADOT express line #574 to the Encino Park and Ride(boards on Sepulvada across from airport) Once at the Encino park and ride take a #422 or 423 to Calabasas. if not during a weekday rush hours, from the LAX city bus center take a Culver Citibus #6 to Westwood, then an MTA# 761 Rapid bus to Ventura & Sepulveda then a #750 Rapid bus to Ventura & Topanga Canyon and finally a #161 bus to Calabasas. Hope this helps. Good Luck!
