Is there airport transportation from Martinsburg West VA to Dulles?
Public Comments
- I don't think so. A limo may be your best bet (check the price before you laugh and say "I'm not rich enough to take a limo to the airport"--they charge by the hour and taxis charge by the mile, it may not be much difference, and daytime is cheaper). If it is a weekend flight, you could try getting a lift from a kid at Shepherd going home for the weekend.
- No. There is no public transport, and Super Shuttle will not pick up in Martinsburg. That leaves you only taxi, limosine, as the previous poster suggested, and the option to drive yourself.
- There's one other option...although you may decide it isn't worth the hassle. You could take the MARC Rail train from Martinsburg (229 East Martin Street) to Union Station ($10 I think). Then you could take the Metro (red line) from Union Station toward Shady Grove 3 stops to Metro Center. Then go downstairs switching to the orange line toward Vienna/Fairfax/GMU. Get off at the West Falls Church Station (the Metro trip shouldn't cost more than 3 dollars...just put five on a Metro card). Then look for signs to the Washington Flyer bus stop...easy to find. This bus takes you to the front door of the main terminal at Dulles, and tickets can be purchased on the bus from the driver ($9). I don't really recommend this, because it's like going around your ass to get to your elbow. Plus it makes hectic travel days way more hectic. But it can be done, and is quite survivable in a pinch.
- Here are your links from Dulles to surrounding areas. Only one or 2 MARC trains a day depart Martinsburg for Union Station - very early in the morning. Once you miss those trains, there are no other options other than advertising on http://www.craigslist.org or another ride sharing service.
