What are the proper steps on rust prevention on a classic car?
I just bought a rust free California black plate '69 LeMans. The body is in great shape and I'd like to keep it that way. It is being transported to SC, where the humidity is always high...What should I consider doing to protect my car, other than obvious things like not driving in the rain and keeping it in the garage. Are any of those rust prevention undercoating products/sprays good? Any other tips on taking care of the car would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

- If you are talking frame , a coat of good quality paint will help . Of course not driving in the rain would help , but what do you do if it don't come up until you are out and away ? Also do you not go out if weather man says a chance of rain ? and which weatherman do you listen to ? Come on now . Just driving in the rain is not going to increase or decrease the chance for rust . Proper maintenance will do that . If you are talking body and chrome , good and regular clean and polish will do it then . Don't let rust worrying keep you from enjoying the car !!
