Do the Army reimburse for car transport?
I have never tried to transport my car and this will be my first time.

- I doubt it, but check with your commander
- You can't do it yourself. The Army does not reimburse u for it, they ship it. I had mine shipped to Germany and back. Uncle Sam pays for it. You will have to take it to the closest military shipping port. East coast used to be Bayoune?, NJ and Charleston, SC. Don't know the ports on the west coast. You do have to go to post transportation to get the paperwork and have it put on your orders. They will have pamplets on what you will have to do. At least that's the way it used to be. At least give them a call and find out what/how to do it. NOTE: They will search your vehicle at the port. Anything not allowed will be tossed. I have seen people drive down the day they were to fly out to the next assignment and dropoff the vehicle, as I did going to Germany. They will toss anything flameable,i.e., waxes, cleaners, etc.
