Is Malaysia's overall public transport considered quite okay ?

I staying at JB and in comparison with singapore , i personally think that malaysian public transport is : 1) unsystematic 2) very dirty ( like trash and ''conteng-conteng'' ) 3) Many infrastructure are not undergo proper maintainance so , i am wondering ....Is Malaysia's public transport considered quite okay when we compare to others country ? ... i am here refer to the overall (nationwide) situation and not only refer to the KLCC region's public transport ...

  1. Unfortunately, it's a far cry from okay... Singapore being the nearest 1st world class country to us has an excellent public transportation system, no doubt about it. Financial issues might be one arguement, but let's face it, even if we are as wealthy more much wealtier than Singapore, things would b pretty much the same, wouldn't it? Its the mentality of the ppl that counts, plus this also involves our lacking of law enforcements. Is Malaysia the only country which allows tractor on our highways? Yeah, Malaysia Boleh indeed! Don't even get me started comparing us with European countries, we should really emulate their perception towards having convenient and efficient services for the ppl. We should provide flexibility of our public transportations for future growing population as well as proper and convenient connectivity between all means of public transportation, so that there isn't any place left out, out of reach/isolated. All in all, there's still a lot of improvements needed for the current public transportation, without the need to spend billions on new ways of resolving the problem.
  2. you must be new around here...
  3. if comparing to malaysia's public transportation to others, i prefer other countries
  4. Overall, even much worse......some places do not even have one......and most probably with drivers with no licence.....
  5. Huh! "Quite Okay"......HAHAHAHA!! Wow! "Quite Okay"....HAHAHAHA!!
  6. Well when you compare it with our neighbors the S'poreans our public transport pales in comparison for sure! You basically covered all the worse bits of public transport, LoL=P There's always room for improvement but it will be a slow process.
  7. I don't mind if its full of graffiti, i just want them to be ON TIME!
  8. I would say Malaysian transportation is at its all time safest point with only a 38% death rate. Have fun and when your ride starts rolling over, get into the brace position, hold down your lunch, and get ready to stop drop and roll.
  9. if you consider ramshackle and frequently late buses, dirty bustops, cheating taxis , bumpy roads ridden with holes quite okay, you'll be happy here.
  10. Judging by the 'buses which barrel up and down the N-S highway at 150-160 Kph, swaying all across three lanes, I'd say it's not only "not quite OK" but highly dangerous. Of course, if you want a more sedate journey you can always take the express train from Singapore to Butterworth. Now there's an oxymoron for you, a "fast Malaysian train". As to point #3, have you never heard the Malaysian axiom "if it's broken, don't fix it"?
  11. hahaha....our public transport is even worse than Thailand, never mention Spore lah.......malu lah OK
