Do they use real oil in the Transporter fight scene?

In the first transporter movie, during the oil fight scene where the guy took bike pedals and used them to walk on the oil. Do they actually use real oil? or do they use something else? like chocolate syrup or something?

1. I think that it was real oil. But not the kind you think. Probably olive or peanut oil dyed a darker color. It wouldn't be safe for the actors to be coated in motor oil.
2. The "oil" used in The Transporter is actually molasses syrup. I can only imagine trying to wash that out of your hair. :)
