How do you get different transportation on the sims 2?

I have Sims 2 on my computer & all of the expansion packs. When I click on the phone and click on Transportation it only says 'Taxi'. Is there other transportation or is that it? If there is more please can you tell me how to get them Thanks.

3. Well if you have all of the expansion packs. You should be able to go by car/truck/van aka your own vehicle. And taxi and walking. That's all i know of.
4. Via the phone, I believe the only transportation you can get is taxi. However, you should be able to go into Buy Mode and buy a car for your Sims. If you are open to downloading custom content, you can actually find other buyable transportation such as motorcycles. If you are uncertain where to search for these custom vehicles, try a site like modthesims.info. Sims in certain careers will get a helicopter as their carpool. I believe this is the business career. There are some custom careers that use the helicopter as well. Have fun. :)

6. Yes there is. Nightlife enables you to buy your own car or van for your personal travel (to do this, though, you'll have to build a garage/driveway first). Apartment Life gives you the option to walk from lot to lot. This is convenient if you don't have a car, because you can choose when to leave the lot without having to face the delay of a taxi. It also gives you the option of having a private helicopter to get from place to place, just so long as you have a landing pad. That's it for getting to places you want to go.
7. There is only taxi to go to a community lot. If you want any others you need to buy them, but they can be bought in buy mode, for a price. You can walk, get a car thing for vacation and depending on what job/level you are you can get limo's to work.
