Location Transport

How can you transport 3 video frequencies on the same cable without interference?

You have 3 video signals from different DVD players and you have to transport them via coaxial or AV cable for a short distance without mixing them or creating interference so they can be separated. Same principle as cable TV. Any simple and cheap ideas?

  1. you need to modulate them on different channels. The frequencies of video are the same so they would turn into a combined mess. so one way is to buy three rf modulators. They make them with different output frequencies, and some can be programmed. I would get two UHF and one VHF. If you get two VHF and have one on channel 3, and one on channel 4 you will probable get some interference. The UHF ones should have some channel separation too
  2. with the conversion to DTV, old analog television modulators are available pretty cheap used. avoid using adjactent channels, otherwise any channel lineup works. of course you will need analog tvs to watch. splitters also work as combiners. a splitter of the type that sends one antenna to 4 TV sets can be used to couple 4 modulators to one cable.
