I need some information about public transport in Canberra.?
I would be moving to Canberra the next month. I would be studying and working part time too. I need information about publiuc transport in the city. What would be a good means of transport from the airport and also for daily commuting.

- Why not not type in "information about public transport in Canberra" into a search engine
- Daily transport: It does depend on where ur studying but the buses are your best bet, Canberra has awesome bus routes, the main routes go every 5-15 minutes right into the cities, from Belconnen to Woden to Tuggeranong and farther. :)
- the only public transport canberra has are buses and taxis. buses are your best bet, they run regularly and cover most of canberra. they are also fairly cheap, and also go out to the airport. but depending on how much luggage you have you may be better getting a taxi for your first trip to canberra
- For everyday commuting --> use ACTION buses (www.action.act.gov.au) They have a great bus system, 90% of which all go through the city at some stage or another. You can purchase daily, weekly, or monthly tickets which work out to be super cheap as well (The monthly is the best buy) The other bus service which runs in Canberra is DEANS BUS LINES. This is run through NSW as well, and so often doesn't cover the same areas that action does, nor does it come anywhere near as frequently. From the airport to the city --> use an AIRLINE bus (http://www.canberraairport.com.au/air_toAndFrom/bus.cfm) They are only $9 one way and take you straight into the heart of civic. I am pretty certain that they come every half an hour on weekdays as well. :) Hope this helps!
- in all honesty, if u can, get a car cause driving around canberra is so easy and quick since there is very lil traffic... plus it is quite spread out which adds to the time spent on a bus...if u do bus it will take u twice as long (at least) compared to a car, and from the aiport, just get a taxi enjoy canberra :P:P
