- Both 26 and 87 Bowery are very close to each other, therefore her how to get both place from Newark-Liberty International Airport. Step 1: take the Airtrain from the terminal to the Newark-Liberty International Airport train station. Step 2: at the Newark-Liberty International Airport train station, purchase a one way NJ Transit ticket from EWR to Penn Station New York and take any New York City-bound (eastbound) train to Penn Station New York. A one way ticket on NJ Transit from EWR to New York Penn Station will cost you $15. Step 3: at Penn Station, transfer to the New York City subway. Take the downtown (southbound) "A", "C" or "E" subway lines (Blue Line on the subway map) from Penn Station to West 4th Street-Washington Square. Step 4: at West 4th Street-Washington Square, transfer downstairs, to the "B" and "D" subway lines (Orange Lines). Take the Brooklyn-bound (southbound) "B" or "D" line from West 4th Street to Grand Street. Step 5: at Grand Street, exit the subway and walk a block west on Grand Street from the subway station on the corner of Grand and Chystie Streets to Grand Street and Bowery. Turn left on Bowery and walk a block south along Bowery from Grand Street to Hester Street. 87 Bowery is on the east side of the street. However, instead of walking to Hester Street, you walk an addition 3 blocks south along Bowery from Hester to Baynard Street. 26 Bowery is located on the west side of the street.
