- About $2,500 shipping. The import fees and taxes will run about 200% of the value of the car when it was brand new. It does not matter if it's 15 years old, they still make the calculation from the new price. There will be port fees to load and unload it too. Not to mention the tip you'll need to give the customs boys if you don't want the paperwork to take a couple years to process.
- before doing this think/consider seriously the spiraling cost of gas in the Philippines. If the price of gas goes back to its mid-2008 level, a lot of vehicles/cars will just be left by owners in the garage. And, why import? with the amount you'll spend for shipping your gas guzzler you can already buy a karag-karag imported car in the Philippines. Joke only. But, if you go to Enrile's Port Irene in Cagayan you can make a choice from a variety of imported cars. Cheap, converted right-hand drives. What say mo?
- the shipping charges are small compared to the taxes, red tape and payoffs you will need to pay.
