Shipping my car from New York to California?

Ok, i'm shipping my car from New York to California, i tried [DAS] and they said it will be $1000!!!! I have a Pontiac Sunfire, now is there any much cheaper companies that it will be much cheaper? Please help, and thakns.

1. have someone drive it....go to craigslist....
2. $1000 is pretty much the going rate, it cost me about that much when I moved from Malibu to NY a couple of years ago and had my car shipped. If you don't want to spend the money, and believe me it will cost you way more than that in fuel costs if you decide to drive it, you could always go through the hassle of selling it and buying a different car when you move.
