Location Transport

Have you noticed that the prices at McDonalds are different by location?

I live in Las Vegas and I have noticed that one of their items is different from one location to the next. Is this even legal? For example, McDonalds charges $1.79 for an egg Mcmuffin in one area of town. But on the side of town where there are more minorities, they charge $1.93 I think I may have to boycott McDonalds for charging more in the minority part of town.

  2. yup... :)
  3. Check it out http://markpappalardo.blogspot.com/2008/11/mcdonalds-pricing-strategies.html
  4. YOu think thats bad, go to Hawaii...OUTRAGOUS
  5. Around my part of town, you can get a combo meal for about $5, but at the ballpark it will cost you about $7. It's crazy because they are selling the Exact same food.
  6. Yes I have noticed it. If I go to one town and then go to another the combos or different prices. That is crazy.
  7. Yes , even dine in / or out is different price ............ ..........best way is avoid McDonald's
  8. i am talking from Kentucky a big mac is $5.00 that just the hamburger.
  9. yes I have, usually they are the same, but once in awhile they charge 50 cents more for things. And the Mall of America's location DOES NOT have a DOLLAR Menu !!!!
  10. Yes I've noticed. Some McDonalds are idependently owned and have their own prices. It depends in the area the McDonalds is in.
  11. The reason this might be is cause its be diffrent owners and as well as locations. Some owners are a little more expensive as for others they might be a little cheaper. If you think you can take a legal action or boycott anything like this you will just make yourself look like a fool. NO offense. It all depends on the owner and locations. I live in texas and for a Big Mac meal its 5.52 with tax. Other locations in texas are probably cheaper or more expensive it just depends on the area or the owner. Its just like gas is more expensive in california can you only imagine how expensive the food is there
  12. McDonald's prices varie from location to location. Some McDonald's offer different items then others. It's all legal. Prices, and menu variety tend to depend on location, and popularity. A McDonald's in a big city like New York is likely to charge more money for an Egg McMuffin because it's a high priced city, with people who are willing and able to pay, where as a smaller state town, is going to charge less, because it fits with the local consumers more reasonably. I dont' think the prices you are seeing has anything to do with ethnicity, more likely it depends on where it is located and the overall population of the town. Is one of them on an interstate, while the other is in the middle of town? As far as dine in/dine out prices go, some states require customers to pay a dine in tax and others don't. I know that Ohio charges a Dine In Tax, while North Dakota and Indiana do not!
