What are your opinions on public transportation?
I frequently ride the bus and honestly I don`t find it all that bad. In the city I live in there`s plenty of buses, that is up until a certain time, and they`re very clear as to where they are going. The only issue is how crowded it gets and the lack of AC but other than that it is quite efficient. BTW, I live in the Republic of Panama, where we use the infamous diablos rojos as transportation.
Public Comments
- nasty
- I hate public transportation... I'd rather take a bike or a bicycle!
- they're expensive. if it was a decision out of public and private, private transport will win every time
- I think its a good idea myself. It saves a lot of driving and provides a easy way to work for non-drivers.
- Public transport.................filthy,germ laden areas!!
- I use it frequently.
- I Live in NYC. Its not bad, it could be worse I just hate when the buses are not on time or on weekends when there are service changes so you cant take the train you want. The buses arent bad its just really slow like three miles an hour sometimes. Also they run less frequently when you really need them.
- It's alright I like using the Metro in Washington DC better than riding Marta in Atlanta. It seems like the Metro is safer than Marta.
- The Buses don't come when they're supposed to come. They're overcrowded during Rush Hour and the Air Conditioner doesn't always work.
- It takes forever to get where you're going, and occasionally you'll meet a perv on the bus BUT other than that it's pretty OK.
- i live in the uk there ok
- Public transportation is a great thing. Our public transportation system is a joke, if a system is good, people will ride. This has been proven time and time again all over the world. It uses much less fuel, is less polluting, cleaner, saves highway space, fewer traffic accidents. The plusses far outweigh the minuses. I would utilize public transport if it were available in my area.
- as someone who don't drive , i don't mind it. I live where they're a lot of buses too, Philadelphia area,PA, USA. they're all air conditioned so it's comfortable. but depending on what bus it can be crowded that's the only thing that really sucks , plus when they're late and stuff... usually people who call it nasty or don't like it are people who never had to use it. Who had their mommies and daddies buy them cars as teens. If they took it regularly they would know it's not that bad/
- If it gets you from A to B who cares? I drive but If I had to get on the bus, I would..
- well my mom made me take the bus in school but i didn't like it, too crowded. so i used to walk home but no that i have cars i just get in my Challenger and go home.
- Actually, I've seen my local mass transit system (buses) go from really good (winning awards multiple years in a row) to really sucky and mediocre--drivers with attitude problems (especially towards the elderly and folks needing canes and wheelchairs to get around), really Fubar routes, the works. And I really think some of it is just a political football--that people are snobs when it comes to funding a poor person's transportation. Thank goodness that's changing though. ^__^ Well, at least on the part of the mass transit district....routes are being streamlined (as much as possible given that half of Champaign is torn up with construction, ugh), and fares are being lightened somewhat (annual passes just got massively cheaper, seriously). I'd give you their link but there's a *slight* chance Yahoo! would screw with it. Point is it would seem things might change for the better somewhat. Now if only we could get the *riders* an attitude transplant. o.o Unfortunately I keep running into loud, rude people on the bus.... Overall I like public transportation--it's what I can afford right now, and we have a good system overall. If only we didn't have so many haters and ranters on the bus. o.o But some of this really is coming from certain bad drivers, who seem to be on the way out.... Hope this helps.
- Well I use it 'cause I don't drive yet, their kinda slow here & need more buses to be on time & every hour
