What's the difference between Loadmasters and Air Transportation?

I know the loadmasters travel with the aircraft and perform the drop but do they both load the aircraft? Is there anything the air transportation personnel do that loadmasters don't?

  1. I don;t remember the AF loadmaster traveling with us on the aircraft and helping us unload our trucks and mods once we got to Kuwaite....I guess thats why we had the motorpool personnel with us.aye?
  2. The Air Transportation field (2T2X1) works to sort mail, route cargo to different bases, load and unload aircraft, process passengers etc. The loadmasters inspect the cargo as it's loaded to insure the safety of the aircraft and crew, fly to the destination with the load, then supervise the unloading. The short answer is: loadmaster fly's with the cargo, air transportation prepares cargo before flight.
  3. Air transportation are responsible for determining what cargo needs to get shipped and where to. The Load Master is concerned with the cargo on his aircraft, He has to know the weights of every cargo pallet, so he can balance the aircraft. It his his job to determine where cargo is placed abord the aircraft and even if the cargo that Air transportation wants shipped, can safely be shipped on the aircraft. Air transportation, doesn't focus on a single aircraft, they develop the shipping schedules for all cargo. Think of air transportation as dispatchers, who also load the cargo, where the load master tells them to.
