Rather than rent a car from an airport rental it is cheeper to do it out of the airport.?
Is there any advice, and do people do this often. We are thinking of doing this in July at Denver International. We would have to take transport to the outside car rental. Are there any suggestions at this airport?

- go to carrentals.com!! They rock!!
- I have no idea! You should compare the two!
- Even if it is cheaper, you need to factor in a cab ride to and from the airport.
- I have never been 2 this specific airport but most times renting a car from a local car rental is cheaper and easier. Plus car rentals at the airport are inconsistent . They may not have the car you want and you may have to get a stinky car instead :(
- I think car rentals is good. Or try Zipcar. Kinda like a U-haul but for renting cars i hear they are really good and affordable.
- Go to car rental.com and compare--but remember the cost of the extra travel. Get maps and make calls; in some cities there's a shuttle. I like to deal with enterprise.com--sometimes they have the best deal and locations, and I usually use them for business trips.
- the best way to save money is to use other accounts that you may have from AAA, hotels, airlines etc...so far I have rented from the airport and outside and there is no difference. If you live near the airport do that if you live near the avis for example do that because when you make the reservation online, it ask where you want to pick up and drop off. also, take weekly or weekends to save and plan ahead usually a month or two prior to your trip will save you hundreds. so go online and compare prices between avis, dollar,etc..before selecting a location. good luck
- In some cases yes, the airport locations charge you a higher tax rate or special fee. Just check it out and see if it cheaper and worth it.
- just do it before you leave. there are quite a few sites that you can search that will likely give you the best prices available. just go here: www.BookMe.com and you will be able to compare prices on all the reputable travel sites in just a couple minutes. it's very convenient and will save you a bunch of time and money. Also, make sure you buy them online... otherwise they charge much higher fees for phone orders. good luck.
