How to ship a package so that the addressee pays shipping costs?

I have a package that I'd like to ship to someone but they need to pay the shipping costs. Can COD be applied so that the post office collects the shipping costs from the receiver when they pick up the package?

  1. They would need to pay ahead of time. If it was sent and they refused to pay, the shipping company would just lose out.
  2. Get them to book the pickup online through www.courierquotes.com.au and they can pre-pay the pick up. It has hundreds of couriers to choose from and gives you instant quotes and prices. Also generally much cheaper than Aust post.
  3. if you use www.shipalliance.com 800-684-6359 all you would need to do is check the bill to consignee (receiver) box on their bill of lading & they will collect shipping charges from them
  4. COD is used when you need the consignee to pay you both goods value and shipping costs. In your case, once you get the money for the goods ask the consignee for his account number with his partner courier. Then call his courier and tell them that number. When the courier comes to take the parcel you need to fill the Waybill as Charges Collect (Payable at destination or similar text on the waybill). Thus the shipping costs will be paid by consignee.
