What is the difference between drop shipping and regular US Postal Service Mail?
I have had plenty of packages delivered by the post office. However, I have had a few that were drop shipping. What is the difference? I realize that with drop shipping it's just at your door when it arrives - period. However, who delivers it? Please tell me more if you know about this. Thank you.

- Drop shipping is an item that is ordered through you, but is shipped directly from the manufacturer to the recipient. You don't handle the item at all. Other shipping methods (UPS, USPS Mail, etc) requires you to personally handle the package. You receive the item from the manufacturer, then maybe repack and reship it to the recipient.
- When you pay for an item from a company, sometimes they don't have that item in stock or they have an arrangement with a distributor or manufacturer to send that item from their factory, that is called "drop shipping". The company you buy from orders the product from the drop shipper and they send it to you. It helps the business by not having to ship an item from Los Angeles to New York, if the drop shipper is in close by New Jersey. Its saves money by reducing the time and expense of shipping from one place to another.
- Here's a pretty decent explanation of drop shipping: http://www.doba.com/how-dropshipping-works/drop-shipping-basics.html
