Location Transport

Canadian with disabilities. What is Canada like in each of the 4 areas?

1. Employment for people with disabilities 2. Education for people with disabilities 3. Disability Support Pension ( That what it called in Australia) 4. Accessibility like public transport and buildings

  1. I can only speak for two areas Newfoundland and eastern Ontario. 1) I had no trouble finding work in either province. I've been employed both in positions that catered to people with disabilities and in positions you might not expect to find an amputee. 2) not too many complaints education wise. Home in Newfoundland the University isn't 100% disabilities friendly although they do try. There is room for improvement. 3) I don't really know what this is, I don't think I would qualify for the equivalent either. I do qualify for a tax benefit but that's it. 4) Back home ( Newfoundland) Public transport needs a lot of work. That goes for everyone disabled and non-disabled. Older buildings are not required to be fully accessible unless they undergo any renovation. The new buildings have to be fully accessible. Where I am in Ontario I find the public transport better. Although I still need to do a lot of walking... but I guess that won't hurt me.
