  1. Sudbury is a modern city, with about 157,000 people living in it. It is located in central Ontario, about 250 miles to the north of the Provincial capital city, Toronto, where I live. Sudbury has one main industry, iron ore mining, and the two main employers are Inco and Falconbridge, both of whom have a number of underground mines in the area, as well as two smelters, where they melt the rock to produce finished metal products. As for kids clothes and sports, you should try using Google, to search for "teens in Sudbury, Ontario " to find discussion forums and activity calenders. Jim B. Toronto.
  2. same as any other town, i am sure you will like it
  3. I actually live a few hours from Sudbury, but I have friends there I think I can speak for, and I'm a Canadian teen girl. Girls wear jeans, or yoga pants, this summer floral dresses, bubble skirts, and bermuda shorts are popular, as well as block dresses. In the winter, you see a lot of lululemon or bench sweaters, and uggs. It really depends what high school you go to, some are pretty clique-y, but there are generally friendly people everywhere. Ontario cirriculum isn't particularily difficult, so you should be able to keep up. In Canada, we use "Grades" instead of "years", but I believe the conversion is the same. In Ontario, people born in 1993 will be going into grade 11 next fall. We don't have TEE. If you want to go to Uni in the USA, they have GPA's, but in Canada it tends to go by marks, and a few universities do have entrance exams. August and September can be pretty warm and humid, the fall weather can be unpredictable. The snow could start in early October, or not come until December. You'll need a winter jacket, mitts, a hat (called a toque or tuque). In the summer, a lot of people play house league soccer. In the fall, school's generally have football, volleyball, and basketball over the winter, with badminton and school soccer in the spring. A lot of boys (and girls!) play ice hockey over the winter too. Sudbury is a quite nice city, it's a little remote, I think about 4 hours from Toronto. In spare time, I guess kids generally just hang out. For malls, there's Southridge Mall and the New Sudbury Centre. There are busses and cabs for public transit, Sports teams can be competitive or house league. You can check out a community centre or ask city hall where you can get more information. Different sports start at different times, soccer signups, for example, are often in March. If you mean seasons weather-wise, Summer in June 21st, September 21st for autumn, december 21st for winter, and match 21st for spring, I believe. In the winter, you can burn a lot of calories shovelling your driveway and going sledding. It hard to play sports outside, so there's indoor sports, the gym, or working out at home, or a treadmill or something.
