How to calculate shipping rates for guitar?

Hi! I'm considering buying a Ibanez RG2EXT1 and get it shipped to my country (Portugal), from the U.S.A. through Fedex, UPS or other. Which is the cheaper and how do you calculate shipping costs? Thanks

  1. There are number of items that go into calculating shipping. Some examples are destination, weight, and import/export regulations for your country. I would suggest using a parcel forwarding company for an item of this size. They will take care of the packing, paperwork, and forwarding for you. I am an international customer as well, and I've used a company called Bongo International for a almost a year now- you set up a US postal address on their site, they receive your items from Old Navy and Best Buy, etc. and put it all in one box if needed.(This saves $ on shipping.) Then they ship it overseas to you. You can track on their website the whole way, great website technology. I like this option because then you never have to worry about shipping problems, you can buy online from anywhere and the rates are very fair. Here is the link for the transit times, etc. to Portugal through Bongo: http://www.bongous.com/country-information/us-to-portugal.php Hope this helps!!
