How much should I give this person for shipping?

I bought a phone from someone off of Craigslist. I live a few hours west so I won't be able to pick up the phone. He said it would be fine to ship it if I gave him the money for shipping- how much would be a good allowance for his time to get to the post office, and the actual shipping rate? We are both not sure. Thanks.

1. It is a phone. Weighs less than a pound. Include $4 for shipping. It wil probably cost him about $2.30 to ship.
2. scam. SCAM. scam. SCAM. Do not EVER trust someone like that from craigslist! You could send them the money and they keep the phone, that is even if they really have the phone. Stuff from craigslist should be strictly a meet in person cash exchange.
